Crew Manager normally sends messages via email, but an optional Skipper enabled feature allows sending an SMS Text message to mobile phones at the same time, if a Crew member desires. The email to SMS text capability may not be available in all countries so the feature may be disabled by the Skipper, resulting in the related profile fields not being displayed. Content in the text messages is limited, so a link is provided in the message to open the full content.
To enable SMS Text messages, do the following.

- Log In if not already by clicking on menu Log In (
icon on phone) - Crew Menu – On menu ( ☰ icon on phone), click down arrow on Crew then click Edit my Profile
or - Viewing the Crew Roster next to your name is a (click to edit) link that allows editing your profile. The phone menu icon
opens the Crew Roster with edit profile link displayed as the 
icon.
- Log In if not already by clicking on menu Log In (
- Scroll down to the section labeled Extra Profile Information where you will see a blank for the Mobile Phone – enter your number in the format 4015551212 (10 digits with no extra characters). If enabled by the Skipper a Mobile Country Code dropdown appears before the Mobile Phone box to select the country associated with the mobile phone number.
- If enabled by the Skipper, a space is provided below labeled Mobile Phone Carrier click the dropdown and select your carrier. If your mobile phone carrier is not listed, use this contact link to email the name of the carrier so it may be added to the list
- If enabled by the Skipper, in the space labeled Receive SMS Text Messages in Addition to Email, check the box
- Scroll to the bottom and click the Update Profile button
- When the screen refreshes, return to the boat website by mousing over the house icon
located top left next to the boat name, then click on Visit Site

These messages are only sent to Crew Assigned to an Event:
- Event Reminder – Event Name, be at Location – date/time – position assigned, if assigned beverages what to bring – event link for details
- Event Canceled – Event Name – date/time – event link for details
- Event Results – Event Name & Date, Results – event link for details
- New Comment on an Event – event link for details
These messages are only sent to Crew in the All Posts group:
- New or Updated Post – Title – post link for details
- New Comment on a Post – post link for details
