Feature Incorporated: Alternate Method to Enter Race Results

The current method to enter race results requires that the event be located on the calendar, then the event edited. There are a few steps to do this documented in the Skipper manual and this FAQ.

A method to enter results from a list such as the Regatta Registration Status report would be more convenient. A concept for the alternate method to enter results is as follows:

1. Skipper logs in to boat website
2. Mouse over Boat and click on the existing Results & Results Entry
3. The report detects Skipper logged in and adds columns to the right for Results, Results Link, Series Results, and Series Results Link, Email Results with fields in these columns that Skipper may type in the associated results and a check box to email results
4. A floating Submit button would be displayed and when clicked would save the results, similar to the existing edit event method
5. If the check box in a row was checked to email the results, the results for that event would be emailed to the crew, similar to if the results were sent by editing and updating the event
6. When the screen is refreshed after saving the results, a confirmation message would be displayed at the top of the display

This feature is in test mode and available for all sites as of noon on 29 August 2019. When the Skipper is logged in, the menu item under Crew is renamed to Regatta Registration Status & Results Entry. Results may be entered and updated from this screen, along with the ability to email any results by clicking a checkbox in the right column.

Please try this and provide any feedback for updates. There is no change on what Crew members see. Only the Skipper logged in sees the extra fields for data entry and the Submit Changes button.

This feature has been incorporated in the software and documentation in Version 2.6 released 4 September 2019 for all sites.

This feature was updated on 10 Sept 2019 and moved under the Boat, Results section of the menu. When the Skipper is logged in, the menu item under Boat is renamed to Results & Results Entry. Results may be entered and updated from this screen, along with the ability to email any results by clicking a checkbox in the right column.
