It would be great to have the ability to email crew directly from an event added to the calendar with the ability to generate the message from the data contained in the event and select which of the crew lists to contact.

An Event Already Exists and Crew is Scheduled
Are you looking for a way to send an email to a group of people announcing a new event? That can be done by using the Skipper Send Email and selecting the "All Posts" or "Core Crew" group. Additionally you may define your own groups and use that for distribution See Feature Incorporated: Skipper Defined Groups for Mail Lists on how to define your custom groups. You may always grab a link to an event and insert it in the message.
An additional notification method is to create a post that gets displayed on the website and sent to everyone in the All Posts group. You may do this when logged in as the Skipper.

- When Skipper is logged in, on menu mouse over Skipper and click on Skipper Send Email
- On To: dropdown select the event, and check the radio button if you want to send it to individuals or group
- Add the subject and compose the message.
- Click the Send Email and the message will go out with the link to the event appended to it automatically

- When Skipper is logged in, on menu mouse over Skipper and click on WordPress Admin
- On the top dark menu, mouse over New and click on Post
- Create the post you would like displayed on the website and sent to the All Posts group.
- If you want it flashed across the front of the web page, on the right side Categories box check Slider and any other categories you desire.
- When you click Publish the post will be displayed on the website front page and sent to the All Posts group. Additionall any time you modify the post and click Update, the All Posts group will receive the modified post
Feature Incorporated: Email Crew Notification of New Event
The Skipper now has the option to select an event to append the link and event contents on a Skipper Send Email message. The picture below shows the new dropdown Append Event located between Subject: and Message Content:. This feature is available on all sites effective 7:30pm on 21 October 2019.
